Things for Kids To Do On A Cruise Ship

All of the cruise lines offer Youth Activities for the younger passengers on the ship. Some such as Norwegian, Disney, and Royal Caribbean offer kid themed cruises complete with cartoon character meet and greets and movie showings. Here is a list of the activities by cruise line for the kids to do while on the ship.

Princess Cruises - Youth Centers on board for the kids include counselors and entertainment such as dance parties, movies, and theme nights. The younger kids get to enjoy Kindermusik at Sea, cartoons, ice cream & pizza parties, pajama parties, fun fairs, and art projects. The older kids will get PS2/PS3, Wii and the latest games, video games,scavenger hunts, talent shows, tournaments , and science projects. Late night kid sitting is also offered onboard.

Kids on a CruiseDisney Cruises - These cruises were made with kids in mind. Disney characters on board the ship, musicals with Mickey Mouse and other characters, and deck parties. There are also computer games on board that are educational and fun. There are animation programs for the family to learn how to draw the some of the Disney favorites. There is a Camp Out program where the kids sing songs and tell stories after pitching a tent on the ship. There are activities such as ping pong, Mr Toads wild race, and shuffleboard. And of course, there is Pirate Night on the ship and a Pirate Game Show.

Royal Caribbean - The DreamWorks Experience and the Barbie Experience are designed for family fun. There are additional family activities as well. There are family oriented festivals, poolside games, theme nights, and family time dining. There is a surf simulator, rock-climbing wall, ice-skating rink, carousels, and zip lines. There are also Adventure Ocean Activities where kids get to play in an arcade, play with Space Mud, learn about Fossils and Weather, and enjoy a Pirate Party Parade. There is also late night sitting available.

Celebrity Cruises - The Fun Factory for kids has exciting games, sports, crafts, music, karaoke, treasure hunts, theme parties, and movies. The cruise line has a program to educate kids on healthy eating and exercise with a character named Nerdel, the alien from the planet Zendel, is a life-size character that entertains kids with live performances, musical activities, and book readings. Kids also get to learn about puppetering as part of the experience.

Carnival Cruises - Camp Carnival is the place for the kids play and learn all day and will get meals like spaghetti & meatballs, chicken nuggets, hot dogs, mac & cheese, peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, and fresh fruit and veggies for lunch and dinner. They also have Dive In movies with free popcorn to enjoy in the evenings. There is a room with giant board games called Hasbro, The Game Show where families can win prizes in front of a live audience. There is also a video arcade onboard. Late night sitting is also available. Family Fun

Norwegian Cruise Lines - Nickolodeon on the Norwegian Cruise line was made for kids. They have all of their favorite characters such as Dora the Explorer, Sponge Bob, and more on board and Nickolodeon themed arts and crafts. Other Youth Programs include Splash Academy is a great place for kids to learn juggling, spinning, tumbling, and other acrobatic skills at Cirque Du Jour. There are interactive workshops for kids where they can create arts and crafts while learning something educational and having fun. The Kid's Center has many activities, Wii games and a surround sound cinema. The kids Aqua Park has a waterslide and pool for fun in the sun.
